As reigning two-time Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference champions, the Saints look for a three-peat with a huge target on their back. Plus, with new arrival AACS (St. Mary’s first B Conference game this year) joining the conference, local rivalries have increased. Plus St. Vincent Pallotti will have its Oct. 11 rematch with the Saints circled on its schedule.
“I definitely think our strength will be on defense. That has been what has got us through the last couple years,” Budroni said. “Our defense has been pretty dominant. We are not as deep as we’ve been the last couple years, so if we stay healthy, we have a good chance. Our goal is to get to the playoffs and once we get there, we’ll see what happens.”
